For more than ten years I’ve been taking photos and producing commercial work. The past years I have devoted to creating photography that I want to see, imagery that I can’t seem to find anywhere.
Working solo and with nudes enables me full creative freedom and the opportunity to orchestrate works that can be authentically mine. This is both liberating and equal parts terrifying. I keep coming back to the realisation that the only story I can tell is my story.
These images explore my feelings of adjusting back to life in Australia after twelve glorious years of living in London UK. My desire to find a new way of life that has some wonderment.
The work reflects my own struggles with self-worth, self-sabotage, and the never-ending questions we all face of Do I add value? Do you see me? Am I still relevant?
I am motivated to do these works to showcase strong women (non sexualised) who are empowered by their bodies and not afraid of their sexuality. I endeavour to show the woman of today who is not ashamed to be naked and in their natural state. Female nudity that can be admired and is not solely for the male gaze.
